30th Sept... IST XV against Old Streetonians and 2ND XV against Chingford
Both teams kicked off their league programmes this weekend with the Ist XV playing Old Streetonians at home and 2nd XV travelling away to Chingford. Both teams came out second best , both having to play with bare mimimum teams.For the record the scores were Old Totts IST 0-Old Streetonians 39 , Old Totts 2ndS 10-Chingford 31.
1ST XV Cup game against British Aiways 16/09/06
The 1ST XV kicked Off this weekend with a Cup game against British Airways.Totts started well with new 1ST team skipper Danny Foster leading from the front. Continued pressure resulting in Totts going ahead with a well supported try by born-again centre , our chairman Paul Savage. His try was duly converted by Gareth Bennett. To give BA their due they came back at Totts with some fine flowing rugby which aided by some weak tackling on Totts behalf resulted in BA going over for three tries with a first-half lead of 19-7.
With two strong substitutions in the second half by coach Gary Watts, Totts held their own for a good 25 minutes with Gareth Bennett going over for a brace of tries , in-between of which BA also scored. With Totts forwards gaining in strengh finally something had to give BA went over for 2 very soft tries. BA finshed winners 38-17.Despite the defeat both skipper and coach were pleased with the performance except perhaps the last ten minutes.The New 2006-7 Season Kicks Off.....02/09/06
The new season kicked off this weekend with the Old Totts returning the visit paid to us last season to Stanford le Hope. Unfortunately the number of players who turned up was very miminal and we only went away with a bare XV. We went down 31-11 but showed moments when we played some good rugby, although there is plenty of improvements for everyone. But a big thank you for everyone who did manage to turn up and play. Quite rightly Steve Rhodes was given the captainship for the day as himself and his family are moving to pastures new in the Channel Islands. We wish you well.
